Raise an Anomaly beginner guide

From your first crib steal to a lab that actually prints cash.

Getting Started

Raise an Anomaly is a Roblox tycoon that launched on 17 August 2026. The loop is short on paper and messy in the first ten minutes. You steal an egg from an SCP-themed parent, hatch it, feed the baby, collect the money it produces, and spend that money on lab upgrades. Servers hold five players. There are no badges and, as of September 2026, no public promo codes. This page is the session you should run before you chase rare morphs or buy a pass.

Before you press Play

Open the official experience Raise an Anomaly (SCP) published by the group and Collect Weird Pets. Like the game and join the group. Those two actions are the only free extras we can confirm today; they also keep you off fake copies that reuse the word Anomaly. If you landed here from Animal Hospital or Raise Animals, you are in a different wiki on purpose — see the links hub for disambiguation.

Set your graphics so cribs and parent silhouettes stay readable. Steal games hide the important object in clutter. On mobile, lock the interact button where your thumb already rests. The controls page lists typical Roblox bindings; the game has not published a custom keymap.

Minute one: find a crib

Official media shows a first-person crib with a baby or NPC sitting on a pink mattress. That is the steal target, not a decoration. Walk the map until you see a parent monster near furniture like that. Do not sprint into the crib if the parent is facing you. The steal-egg guide is the full movement lesson; the beginner version is: approach from behind or while the parent turns, grab, then leave on a path you already looked at.

If another player is already carrying an egg, do not grief the extract unless the game later adds player-steal as a documented feature. Right now the official copy only mentions stealing from SCP monsters. Play the five-player server as a shared hunting ground, not as a PvP arena you invented.

Hatch before you wander

An egg in your hands is not an anomaly yet. Take it to your lab slot and start growth. The X2 Growth Speed pass exists because this wait is real — eggs grow on a timer. You do not need the pass on day one. Park the egg, then use the downtime to learn where food sits and where cash pops up. How to hatch explains stalls: wrong slot, leaving the server, or confusing a held egg with a placed egg.

Feed immediately after hatch

Official thumbnails show steak, spoon feeding, a pumpkin on a tray, and a bathtub. Those are care beats, not jokes. Food is a stocked resource; the X2 Food Stock pass would not exist if hunger were cosmetic. A hungry baby levels slowly and prints slowly. Feed as soon as the hatch finishes, then keep a buffer. Details live in how to feed.

Watch the morph. Yellow smilers start as a grinning sphere and grow claws, then a skinny yellow adult. Pale screamers start as an emaciated infant and become a tall hallway figure. Forest grins jump from a handheld smile ball to a crouched giant. You do not need names from a dex to use this: if it is still baby-sized, keep feeding; if it is adult-sized, it should be earning. Compare families later on the anomaly roster.

Cash and the first upgrades

Grown anomalies generate money you collect. Auto Collect Cash exists as a pass (not on sale when we last checked) which means pickup is a real action, not automatic for free players. Grab cash on a loop while you plan the lab. Early upgrades should shorten the next steal or the next feed, not decorate the plot. Follow lab upgrades and only then open the gamepass planner. X2 Money and X2 Growth Speed both cost 399 Robux and both are permanent; they are multipliers on a loop you already understand, not a skip for the tutorial.

First-session checklist

  • Official game, correct group, five-player server.
  • One successful crib steal and a clean return.
  • One egg placed and hatching.
  • One feeding cycle after hatch.
  • Cash collected at least once.
  • No Robux spent until you know which bottleneck hurt you: steal, growth, food, or pickup.

If you finish that list, you have beaten the onboarding wall. Next, read how to make money and the tier list so you stop treating every egg as equal, and bookmark codes so you are ready when a real redeem box appears. Patch history sits on updates.

Kingblox’s raise session below is a real playthrough of this loop — steal, then raise — not a different SCP roleplay.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for stealing eggs, hatching, and raising anomalies.

How long is the first successful session?

Plan twenty to forty minutes if you fail the first steal. The loop itself is steal, hatch, feed, collect.

Do I need Robux to start?

No. X2 Money and X2 Growth Speed are optional 399 Robux multipliers. Food stock and auto-collect were not even on sale as of 12 September 2026.

Can I play solo?

Yes. Servers allow up to five players, but the official loop is versus SCP parents, not a required party.

Where do codes go?

Nowhere yet. Watch the codes hub instead of using codes copied from Raise Animals.
