Raise an Anomaly How to feed anomalies
Food stock is a resource. Hungry babies do not become SCP adults.
The official Raise an Anomaly description puts feeding on the same line as leveling: feed baby anomalies to level them up. Official thumbnails are a care montage — a steak shoved toward a screaming infant, a spoon of food under a yellow grin, a bathtub with a rubber duck, a pumpkin on a tray. The Roblox store then sells X2 Food Stock as a permanent double of that resource. Feeding is not flavor text. It is the growth engine after hatch.
Food is stock, not infinite
If food were infinite, a 2x food stock pass would not exist. Play as if every steak, spoonful, or tray item comes from a pool you can empty. Restock between steals. A session that only steals and never restocks ends with a pretty baby that never hits the adult morphs shown in marketing: Level 50 claws, Age 100 hallway runners, Day 100 forest giants.
Where stock comes from is not fully published. Expect a lab appliance, a world pickup, or a purchased crate — standard tycoon patterns. Whatever the node is, upgrade it in the lab upgrades order before you buy cosmetics. X2 Food Stock was created on 12 September 2026 and was not for sale at the snapshot we took the same day. Do not assume you can buy your way out of gathering yet.
Feed as a loop, not a cutscene
After hatch:
- Confirm the baby is in a care slot you can reach (crib, tub, arms).
- Hold food and interact. Official art shows both handheld feeding and tray food.
- Watch for a level, age, or size change. Marketing uses Level, Age, and Day as parallel ladders. In-game you may see one of those words, not all three.
- Collect cash if the model has already started generating. Pickup is separate; see Auto Collect notes on the gamepass planner.
- Restock before the next steal so you do not return to a starving slot.
If interact does nothing, you are holding the wrong tool or standing in the wrong prompt. Controls covers prompt lag on mobile. Do not throw the baby; the tub shot is a bath, not a discard animation.
What feeding buys you
Feeding is how cute becomes scary, which is how cash ramps. A Level 1 yellow smiler is a ball. A Level 50 smiler has limbs. A Level 99999 smiler is a distorted adult. A pale screamer in a tub is Age 1; the hallway runner is Age 100. Those official frames are the promise. Your job is to keep food in the model until it resembles the adult you wanted when you stole the egg.
Feeding does not replace stealing. A maxed common still occupies a slot you might want for a better family. Use the tier list to decide who deserves the steak. Use the roster to recognize the baby you are holding. If you cannot tell smiler from screamer yet, feed anyway — idle babies are wasted hatch time.
Hunger problems that look like bugs
- Baby not leveling. Empty stock. Restock, then feed again.
- Cash not moving. Either the anomaly is still a baby, or you are not collecting. Auto Collect Cash is a pass, which means free players must pick up.
- Food disappears with no level. You may be feeding the wrong interactable (tray vs baby). Face the model.
- Pass not available. X2 Food Stock can exist in the universe and still be off-sale. Check the store; do not buy third-party “food packs.”
Care extras
The tub, duck, and pumpkin are in official media. Treat them as care stations that may buff mood, hygiene, or just be the feed animation for that room. Until patch notes say otherwise, any care interact that consumes stock is part of feeding. Do them. Skip only when you have timed that they do nothing — and log that on updates if you can reproduce it.
Feeding is also how you learn which families you like. If a pale screamer stresses you in a five-player hallway, stop stealing that crib. If a yellow smiler makes you laugh at Level 50, double down. The wiki will not rank joy, but the best anomalies page will rank income once players publish numbers. Until those numbers exist, feed what you can steal consistently after getting started.
Keep food in the loop every time you leave the lab. Steal, hatch, feed, collect, upgrade, repeat. That sentence is the whole game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for stealing eggs, hatching, and raising anomalies.
What food does the game use?
Official art shows steak, spoon feeding, a pumpkin tray, and bath care. Exact item IDs are unpublished. Use whatever the lab prompt accepts.
Is X2 Food Stock worth it?
It was not even on sale on 12 September 2026. When it is, it doubles stock — useful if gathering is the bottleneck, useless if you cannot steal.
Does feeding unlock new anomalies?
Hatching unlocks. Feeding levels the one you have. New families still come from stolen eggs.
Can I overfeed?
Unknown. Keep feeding until the adult morph matches official art or cash clearly ramps.
