Raise an Anomaly Yellow smiler family

The official three-panel smile — easiest anomaly to recognize while you learn the lab.

Yellow Smiler

The yellow smiler is the Raise an Anomaly family we can document with the least guesswork. Official media prints three labeled stages on one image: Level 1, Level 50, Level 99999. If your egg hatches into a yellow grinning sphere, you are on this ladder. If it hatches into a skinny pale infant, you want the pale screamer page instead.

We do not have the in-game display name. “Yellow smiler” is a wiki label so players can search. When the dex prints a real name, it will replace the heading in a future edit. Until then, match the model, not the rumor.

Stages

Level 1 is a yellow ball with a wide toothy smile, sitting on a green stud floor in the thumbnail. It looks portable and almost friendly. This is the hatch result you should celebrate: you already finished the hard part, the steal.

Level 50 grows limbs — clawed arms and birdlike legs — while the smile stays. This is the tell that feeding works. If you are still a ball after many meals, you have a food stock problem, not a “fake egg.”

Level 99999 is a hunched yellow adult, smile too wide, indoor lighting. Treat 99999 as a ceiling shot. You will not hit it by staring at the number. You hit it by not letting the baby idle. Growth stages compares this ladder to Age and Day art.

How to get one

Steal an egg from the matching SCP parent. The parent may itself be a yellow grin; it may not. Official copy only says steal eggs from SCP monsters. If a crib sits near yellow props or a smile motif, try it. If you grab a different family, raise it anyway — empty slots are the real loss.

Hatch in your lab. Feed as soon as the ball exists. The beginner guide is enough onboarding; this page is identification.

Why it is a good first main

  • Instantly readable at baby and adult.
  • Official art proves a long feed tail, so you know the developers care about this morph.
  • Less hallway horror than the pale screamer, which helps if jumpscare models make you miss controls.
  • Easy to explain to a friend on a five-player server: “the yellow ball.”

It is not proven best at cash. Best anomalies still puts consistency above cosmetics. A fed smiler is excellent. A starving smiler is a wasted steal.

Care notes

Spoon-feeding appears in a related official shot of a yellow baby in arms under a red moon. If you get a spoon prompt, use it. Steak prompts on other families still apply if the game uses a shared food item. Do not assume smilers only eat spoons; assume they eat whatever the prompt accepts.

X2 Growth Speed helps the egg become the ball faster. It does not skip Level 50. X2 Money helps after the adult exists. Neither pass is required; see the gamepass planner.

Mix-ups

Forest grin Day 01 art also shows a yellow smile ball in a player’s hands. That may be the same family with different copy, or a cousin. If your adult becomes a forest giant instead of a skinny yellow indoor figure, you are on the forest ladder described on the roster. Keep feeding; the wiki will split pages when names exist.

If a YouTube thumbnail shows a smiler but the video is Animal Hospital, leave. This family belongs to place 71443883879110 only.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for stealing eggs, hatching, and raising anomalies.

Is the yellow smiler SCP-999?

The model nods at smile horror. The game has not printed 999. We will not assign Foundation numbers.

How do I reach Level 50?

Feed after hatch. There is no published steak count.

Should I replace a smiler with a screamer?

Only if you already have cash flowing and you want the other morph. Do not reset your only adult.

Does it need a special station?

Unknown. Use the same lab crib, tray, and food prompts as other babies.
