Raise an Anomaly Lab upgrades worth buying first
Spend anomaly cash on the bottleneck you actually have.
The official Raise an Anomaly pitch ends on earn money and upgrade your lab. That is the tycoon half. Stealing eggs is the action half. If you upgrade in the wrong order, you will own a pretty containment room and still drop every crib run. This page is a spending order based on confirmed systems — cash collection, food stock, egg growth, five-player plots — not a leaked price table. Prices in cash are unpublished. Robux prices for live passes are not: X2 Money and X2 Growth Speed are 399 Robux each.
What the lab is
Your lab is home. It is where eggs hatch, babies eat, and cash appears. Official rooms include a crib interior, a brick wall with a red moon window, a tiled bath, and hallway lighting that matches the pale screamer adult. You are not building a Foundation site from a wiki. You are buying nodes that shorten the loop you already run after getting started.
If a button does not change steal speed, hatch speed, food, or pickup, it is a cosmetic. Buy it last. SCP wallpaper does not extract an egg.
Spend cash in this order
- Pickup quality of life. Auto Collect Cash exists as a pass (off-sale in the 12 September 2026 snapshot), which proves pickup is a chore. Any lab node that magnetizes, chests, or pads cash is first. Standing still to click money while a crib respawns is hidden downtime.
- Food production or storage. X2 Food Stock is the Robux version of this problem. The cash version is whatever appliance restocks steak, trays, or bath care. Hungry babies stall levels.
- Hatch capacity. One slot means one egg. Two slots mean you can steal while the first grows. Capacity beats decorations.
- Movement inside the plot. Shorter paths from pad to crib to tray. You will run this path hundreds of times.
- Visual flex. After the loop is smooth.
Do not buy a second plot fantasy. Max players is five; you have one lab. Defend it by being fast, not by covering every stud in neon.
When Robux is allowed
Read the gamepass planner before any 399 purchase.
- X2 Money if you already steal, hatch, feed, and collect without mistakes. Doubling a broken loop doubles nothing useful.
- X2 Growth Speed if you hate the egg wait and you already have food ready at hatch. Doubling growth into an empty tray wastes the pass.
- X2 Food Stock when it is actually on sale and gathering is your limiter.
- Auto Collect Cash when it is on sale and you are tired of pickup. It is not a steal assist.
None of these passes steal eggs for you. If your deaths are at the crib, spend time in how to steal eggs, not Robux.
Signs you upgraded wrong
- Cash in the world, empty food, growing egg. You bought pickup or cosmetics too early.
- Full food, no egg. You are scared of the crib. That is a steal issue.
- Huge adult anomaly, still clicking every bill. You need pickup, not another family.
- Multiple babies starving. You need stock or fewer slots filled.
Reset mentally: one well-fed adult beats three starving secrets. The tier list can wait until one lab machine is online.
Lab and other players
You share a server with up to four strangers. Do not assume their pads are yours. Claim, hatch, and feed on your furniture. If a future patch adds raids or player steals, updates will say so. Until then, the lab is a safe pocket after a successful extract.
Keep a personal rule: every upgrade must answer “which bottleneck died?” If you cannot name the bottleneck, do not buy. Then go steal another egg so the new node has work to do.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for stealing eggs, hatching, and raising anomalies.
Is there a published upgrade tree?
No. Use the bottleneck order on this page until the developers post prices.
Should I buy X2 Money first?
Only after steal, hatch, feed, and pickup all work. See the gamepass planner.
Do upgrades persist?
Tycoons usually save the plot. Still place eggs before you leave, and confirm after a restart.
Can friends share a lab?
Unknown. Server size is five. Treat the lab as yours unless an in-game prompt says otherwise.
