How to Hatch Eggs

Hatching is the quiet third of the Raise an Anomaly loop, and it is where impatient players think the game is broken. You already stole the egg. Now it has to become a baby you can feed. The official copy says hatch eggs to unlock new anomalies. The store says eggs grow, and it sells a permanent X2 Growth Speed pass for 399 Robux. Those two sentences are the entire published timer system. This page turns them into a routine.

Place the egg on purpose

A carried egg is inventory, not a hatch. Walk it into your lab and use the hatch or crib slot until the egg leaves your hands. If you still see a hold animation, you have not placed it. Relogging with a carried egg is a good way to lose progress in this genre; place first, then AFK.

Your lab is the plot you upgrade. Early on it may look like a room with a crib, a tray, and a cash pickup. That is enough. You do not need a themed containment wing to hatch the first egg. Save the flex pieces for lab upgrades after cash is flowing.

Growth is a timer, not a minigame

Nothing in the official materials describes a tap-to-hatch QTE. The existence of X2 Growth Speed means the default speed is intentionally slow. Sit with that. Use the wait to:

  • Scout the next crib for another steal.
  • Learn food locations so the baby does not hatch into an empty tray.
  • Collect cash from any anomaly you already raised.
  • Read the tier list so the next steal is a family you actually want.

Do not buy the growth pass to skip a tutorial you have not finished. Getting started should be done on the default timer once. After you know how long a cycle feels, the gamepass planner can tell you whether 399 Robux is cheaper than your time.

What “unlock new anomalies” means

Hatching is how the roster opens. You cannot discover a yellow smiler, a pale screamer, or a forest grin without eggs. Official art shows the same family at Level 1, Level 50, and Level 99999, and at Age 1 versus Age 100. Hatch is the door into that ladder. Feeding is the climb. If you hatch and then ignore the baby, you own a decoration.

We do not have a published list of egg types, biome tables, or secret-only eggs. If a video claims a 0.01% egg, treat it as unverified until it matches an in-game index. Secret anomalies collects player reports without turning them into fake odds.

Why an egg stalls

Work this list in order:

  1. Not placed. Still in your hands or on the floor.
  2. Wrong slot. Furniture that looks like a crib but is not the hatch interact.
  3. Server hop mid-growth. Unknown whether progress saves mid-timer; do not test it with your only egg.
  4. Expecting a skip button. Free players wait. The skip is the growth pass, and it is optional.
  5. Confusing hatch with feed. A hatched baby that is not eating looks idle. That is a feeding issue.

If the egg disappears, check whether you extracted into someone else’s plot by accident. Five players share a server. Your lab is the one you claimed, not the nearest crib.

After the hatch pops

The model will look like a baby version of a later monster. Yellow sphere, skinny infant, handheld smile — all of those are hatched states in official thumbnails. Feed immediately. Then start the next steal so a second egg is growing while the first baby eats. Stacking hatch plus feed is how the tycoon stops feeling turn-based.

X2 Growth Speed doubles egg growth. It does not double cash and it does not double food. If your bottleneck is pickup, wait for Auto Collect. If your bottleneck is hunger, wait for Food Stock or just gather more food. If your bottleneck is still “I cannot steal,” no pass will help — go back to how to steal eggs.

Keep an eye on updates. A universe bump on 12 September 2026 landed the same day Food Stock appeared. Hatch rules can change without a blog post. When the developers publish real seconds, this page will print them. Until then, treat growth as a paced wait you plan around, not a bug.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for stealing eggs, hatching, and raising anomalies.

How many seconds does an egg take?

Unpublished. The X2 Growth Speed pass confirms a timer exists. Time one hatch yourself before buying anything.

Does X2 Growth Speed work on babies after hatch?

The pass text says eggs grow 2x faster. Treat it as an egg/growth timer, not a cash multiplier.

Can I hatch while stealing another egg?

Yes in principle: place the first egg, then go steal. Do not carry two unplaced eggs unless you have confirmed inventory slots in-game.

My egg vanished.

Confirm you placed it in your lab, not a world crib. Then check whether you switched servers mid-timer.
